William (Bill) Avery has an extensive background in entertainment safety and security.
His specialized career began in 1976 as the Safety Manager for Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. He remained there until his promotion to corporate headquarters of Anheuser Busch Companies, Inc., in St. Louis, Missouri. In this position he assumed corporate safety responsibilities for the Busch Entertainment Corporation and the Wholesale Operations Division.
In 1986 Bill returned to Florida and joined SeaWorld Parks, Inc., a division of Harcourt, Brace & Jovanovich (HBJ). Bill accepted a position as Director of Risk Management. After nine months he was promoted to Vice President of Safety, Security, Rides, and General Maintenance for Boardwalk & Baseball, Inc., a rides amusement park and home of the Kansas City Royals spring training facility.
In 1990 Bill decided to open his own business dedicated to preserving the safety of the entertainment industry. Since 1990 Bill has offered comprehensive safety, loss prevention and expert witness services. He has provided exceptional quality, integrity, and expertise to entertainment industry professionals and attorneys around the world.
Bill is the founder of Avery Safety Consulting—a firm that provides safety consulting and expert witness services to attorneys and insurance providers.

U.S. Air Force
Bill served in the United States Air Force from 1968-1972 as a Medic. This defining experience set the stage for a life-long career dedicated to promoting safety and health in the amusement ride and device industry.
William H. Avery III was an original writing member of American Society for Testing Material International (ASTM), currenly ASTM Internatioknal, standards on Amusement Rides and Devices Committee F 24.
Bill received the American Recreational Equipment Association (A.R.E.A.), currently, AIMS International, award for Outstanding Dedication to Continuing Safety in the Amusement Industry at the age of 37.
After achieving a top-rated safety record as the first ever Safety Manager for Busch Gardens, Tampa, FL, Bill was promoted to Anheuser Busch Companies, Inc. and appointed head of safety and health for the Busch Entertainment Corporation, responsible for all the amusement parks and tours.
In 1990 William H. Avery III opened an amusement ride and device safety consulting firm which eventually began offering expert witness services. Mr. Avery has provided consulting and expert witness services in 46 states, and in Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Canada, Istanbul, Turkey, and England.
Bill Avery was the recipient of the National Safety Council’s Award of Merit for his work regarding safety at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. The programs implemented by Bill led to 1-million-hours worked without a lost time injury, instituting a culture that had a similar impact on guest incidents.
